Home Management Binder

I have been using a home management binder for quite a few years now but I am always looking for new pages to use for it and new ways to tweak it to make it work even better for me.

Household chore charts and more come in handy to help you keep your home clean as well as organized.

Here are some freebie charts for you as well as your children:

and two more that are not free but are popular.
  • Managers of their Chores <--- this is the same company that has Manager of their Homes  (I want these two books from them but will keep watching for them at the used bookstore or the annual used curriculum sale in our area)

Household Notebooks are great to keep you organized with the charts, a quick address book and more in one convenient place.

Here are some free ones to get your started:

Examples with photos of Household Notebooks / Control Journals:

and also Free Printable Calendars. These are great for using when making a menu plan up for putting the blank calendars into your household notebook (see this thread: Chores Charts, Household Notebooks & More to get your motivated to Keep Organized ) to keep track of birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

If I get more free calendars than I can use though, I will use one of those instead of printing them out.

Up until a week again, I was using the momAgenda Kitchen Folio that I put my calendar pages in to write my menu plans on for the month. I also have a pantry list in there of what I have on hand (which needs to be updated again.)  I had used that Folio so much that some of the pages had torn out of it and some where just about to come out so I bit the bullet and went ahead and disassembled the Folio and now all the menu plans and pantry inventory list is in my Home Management Binder once again.

Peppermint Syrup

Sharing a recipe Cousin Maggie sent me...

Peppermint Syrup

1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
4 crushed peppermint sticks

Using a candy thermometer, boil until the mixture reaches 100c* or 225f*.  Syrup stage!

Keep the syrup on med-low until all the candy is dissolved then increase to medium heat. If you have a pot with a pour spout, use it then it's easier to pour into your storage container such as a recycled jelly jar.

If you do not like peppermint, any crushed candy with flavoring will work!

It’s perfect to drizzle on ice cream!
