Egypt's antiquities admiral says archaeologists accept apparent debris of an age-old amphitheater dating aback about 2,300 years, from the Hellenistic period.
The analysis was fabricated by a German-Egyptian mission at the armpit of Watfa in Fayoum province, about 80 kilometers, or 50 miles, southwest of the capital, Cairo.
Watfa is the armpit of the age-old apple of Philoteris, founded by King Ptolemy II in the 3rd aeon BC.
Ayman Ashmawi of the admiral says the amphitheater consists of a ample affair hall, already adorned with statues, a dining hall, a courtyard and a about 200-meter-long racetrack.
Cornelia Roemer, arch of the mission, says the analysis acutely shows the appulse of Greek activity in Egypt, not alone in Alexandria, but additionally in the countryside.
