Bob was built-in Oct. 30, 1921, in Waukegan, the son of Samuel and Anna Beilin Gold. He affiliated Rita Swanson Neal in 1956 in Hoopeston. She survives.
Other survivors accommodate one stepson, Steven (Christel) Neal of Flower Mound, Texas; one daughter, Karen (James) Cottrell of Champaign; and two grandchildren, Emma and Eva Cottrell, both of Champaign.

He was preceded in afterlife by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the South Pacific on the USS Mugford, a destroyer.

He again accelerating from the University of Illinois in 1950 and began his career with the Hoopeston Chronicle Herald. He formed for the Champaign-Urbana Courier for 21 years and retired from the University of Illinois News Bureau.
Along with his wife, Bob endemic and operated Gold's Bed and Breakfast. Bob was a longtime aged dealer, an ardent Chicago Cubs fan and a lover of the abundant outdoors. He is absolutely trout fishing in a abundance beck appropriate now.

As per his wishes, burial has been entrusted to the affliction of Sunset Funeral Home, Champaign-Urbana Chapel, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign. A graveside bondage account will be captivated at 1 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Danville National Cemetery in Danville. Military ceremoniousness will be presented by the Danville American Legion Post 210.
