Seeing a weight loss by changing the way one eats

In June 2009, we started eating organically. I lost 10 pounds shortly after that time and I gained it back due to still eating processed food we had in the house, etc.

I continued to lose 10lbs again a few times and each time gaining it back because we still hadf some processed foods in the house and the more than should have been soda intake, etc.

This cycle continued until earlier this year when our processed foods were finally to very small amount. We were eating more fresh fruits and veggies, more whole foods, and more organically.etc. I stopped buying processed foods (no matter how good the coupon or the deal is). I kicked up the gardening for fresh foods as well. I also kicked up the home preserving of any excess via freezing, drying, and canning.

I also upped my intake of water. I still drink my sweet tea but even that took a cut in the sugar. No longer is it like the Southern Sweet Tea that could double as pancake syrup. lol I have also cut back on my intake of desserts. My portions are smaller as well.

All that combined as of today’s date, I have lost 20 pounds since this September and I hope to continue to lose more. I have a ways to go to get to my goal weight but I feel better than I have in a very long time.
