Seed Catalogs & Planning for Spring Planting

It’s that time of year again.

The time the seed catalogs start filling my mailbox. The glossy pages entice me with new seeds and fruit trees.

I’ve already took inventory of the seeds we have on hand and have a few areas to fill in.

The anticipation of Spring planting and getting garden areas underway sure is dancing around in my head. The crazy weather we are having which feels like late Winter/early Spring doesn’t help matters either. It makes me want to get my hands in the dirt.

We are planning to add to our garden area this year with more raised beds and some extended growing areas outside of the main garden. We hope to add some more fruit trees to the property this year as well as  add to our edible landscaping.

Lots of things to do around here and Dh says his To Do List grows by the day.  He has told me if I buy fruit trees, I have to plant them. lol  Oh well, I did the last four  fruit trees I bought which I am hoping will bear fruit this year.

How are things going around your place? You planning your garden yet?

  1. Don't forget to look for the learning opportunities in those seed catalogs. You and the kiddos would have a blast.

  2. My fruit trees have been some of my best investments and keep my pantry and freezer full. And even though most of the kids are gone now there is always someone willing and thankful for the extra.
