Man is this stuff in just about everything. It's in many ketchups, jellies, sodas, and a whole lot more stuff. I recently learned that it can be called corn sugar to.
I have noticed since cutting out sodas which have high fructose corn syrup in them, I have lost weight and I feel better. I am trying to avoid that stuff.
Anyone else trying to avoid this?
Do you read labels on products to see what the ingredients are?
We do. If it has high fructose corn syrup, the product gets put back on the shelf.
Dh was said, "If it has an ingredient in it you can't pronounce or don't know what it is, put it back". lol
One reason we garden and home can a lot of stuff. So I know exactly what is in the jar.

Our family was truly blessed to find ketchup with HFCS. I think that is the only thing we really struggled with eliminating.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I have to say that I love your blog and have followed you for awhile. I used to love reading your articles in Refund Cents. Anything that is put in our food that really shouldn't be there is wrong. I have lost 60 pounds in a year and a half just by eating healthy ie: fresh fruits and veggies and whole grains and whole wheat. I don't eat anything that is processed except sometimes a granola bar. In generations past all they ate was what they grew and preserved. There didn't seem to be as many overweight people and there seemed to be less cancer. It is best to stay away from high fructose corn syrup as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteIt is in nearly everything! I've been doing the 30 Day Paleo Challenge (lean meats, veggies, fruit and that is it). When I went through my pantry I was horrified to find it in everything I was buying. Now I have a clue! Thank goodness.
