I am a big believer in trying a natural remedy before turning to over the counter stuff.
Such as the subject of Ear Candles.
Instead of Ear Wax Removal or going to a doctor to have them water blast it out (had to actually have that done once years an years ago but it hurt so bad), I tried the beeswax ear candles. They honestly do work.
This is what they look like:

You stick this through a paper plate or a piece of cardboard and then have someone light the wide end at the top, the tapered pointy end goes in your ear. The heat heats your heat very very lightly and pulls the wax out by vacuum suction caused by the heat and the funnel shape of the ear candle.
I know some people claim they don't work but I know they do for me. My left ear has bugged me for weeks and the last time I was at the doctor she said I had a blob of wax over my eardrum that was causing the muffled sound. I used one of my candles to night and the muffled sound is gone. Peel the rest of the candle apart and saw bits and pieces along with a bigger piece of wax.
Now my ear feels fine. No more breathing in and my ear going muffled. YAY!
So have you tried ear candles?
You can buy them from Amazon or at your local health food stores

After hearing a story about a woman that had used hearing aids on the highest setting all of her life. Then after using these regulary being able to turn it down to the lowest setting, I started using them (off and on for over 10 yrs) and totally agree they sure do help. Not just with the hearing but also sinus issues.
ReplyDeleteYes, Laura. We use ear candles. I love how my head feels after using them. My husband and son get great relief from sinus issues after using them. Of course, you just need to be careful not to catch your loved one on fire ;).
ReplyDeleteYes, we love them too. We only do it once a year if that. But you CANNOT use it on children who have or had tubes in their ears...very painful. (experience talking LOL).
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

I have never used them. Our doctor doesn't use water to clean our ears out. We go to an ENT and he sucks out the wax with an instrument. It is done in seconds! No pain or worry of water or the candles.
ReplyDeleteI have ear wax build-up on a regular basis. My doctor recommended ear candles. I have used them with success. It sure feels better than the "garden hose thing" my previous doctor used to remove the ear wax.
