  • Take 2: Rite Aid Freebies & Cheapies Deals for week of 10/24 – 10/30 Pin It

Be sure to check out my first post about Rite Aid Freebies & Cheapies Deals for week of 10/24 – 10/30.

Now for Take 2 of the Rite Aid Freebies and Cheapies for this week…

    100_8635

I paid $1.31 for all that!

    I saved $60.38

It’s crazy to think that little bit of stuff would be over $61 before coupons and the Rite Aid Wellness Card!

    Transaction #1:

    • 4 Orbit Gum at $1.29 ea
    • 1 Rite Aid Aloe Hand Santizer on sale bogo but only one on shelf so it was price modified to half = $1.20 - $1/1 coupon from the Rite Aid flu coupon booklet
    • 1 Renpure Shampoo bogo but only one on shelf so it was price modified to half = $2.80 - $3 October VV – got back a $1 up
    • 1 Aveeno Shampoo $5.99 - $4 October VV
    • 2 Samy Deep Conditioner products bogo 2/ $4.99 - $2/1 Samy Product coupon – October VV – got back a $1 up on each one.
    • 20oz Sprite  $1.59
    • - $5/$25
    • paid .24
    • got back (4) $1 Up rewards
    • .
    • Just noticed while I was typing that up and looking at my receipt that somehow there are 4 packs of gum missing. There was to be a total of 8 packs on this. I handed over  (4) bogo coupons which scanned and asked the cashier for the price which she put in.   The amount of gum coupons vs. the amount of gum product is not right. Not sure what happened to the other 4 packs of gum as they were not in the bags and are not showing on the receipt.  Weird.  That’s why my total is off in order to use the $5 off $25 in the scenario above too.  I know I had it all figured in while I was putting my order together.    Either way, I will be taking that receipt back to the store with me and making that right with them.

    Transaction #2:

    • Advil 24 count tablets $4.69 – FREE coupon (requested it online from here – The free offer is gone but you can get a $2 coupon now)
    • Loreal Every Strong Shampoo $5.59
    • 2 Jack Links Steakhouse Beef Jerky on sale $2.99 and gives back a $1 up - (2) $1/1 coupon  (Watch your receipt or register as these were not ringing up right and did not produce the $1 up… manager had to credit me for those)
    • 2 Chocolate covered individual candies .26 ea (price after my wellness discount)
    • 2 Rite Aid Hydrogen Peroxide on sale BOGO  2/ $1.49 - .50/1 RA coupon from flu booklet
    • 2 Always Clean Wipes on sale BOGH (buy one get one half) $4.49 and $2.24 ea - (2) $2/1 Always Pads, Wipes, etc. coupon
    • used a $5/$25
    • used a $5 UP
    • paid $1.07
    • .
    • was to get back the (2) $1 ups on the Jack Links Jerky so mgr wrote on my receipt that I was to be credited for those on my next shopping trip.

Mail Fiasco … again. Pin It

Drives me nuts when the post office is so careless with the mail.  They have lost not one house payment of ours but two within the last 9 months. That cost us two stop payments and having to write out another check.

We used to have a subsitute carrier that would bend my scrapbooking kits that I received from a company that I was a member of their design team.  Luckily I haven’t seen that carrier on the route in some time.  I called and complained each time she bent my kits.  She liked to cram boxes into my box too instead of bringing them to the house… she literally would squish the boxes to make them fit into our mailbox!

And my ever favorite…  the torn and ripped envelopes.

I had an online friend sending me some coupons and the envie shows up today looking like this stuffed inside  “WE CARE” plastic bag.  100_8628

    Nice huh?

The kicker, the card inside it was with the open side down and the coupons were missing!  So whoever tore it at the post office took the coupons and whatever else out. Lovely.

And then to stick it inside a “WE CARE” bag… yeah, uh huh?  You cared alright. Cared enough to steal the coupons, etc. out of it.

Not the first time, I’ve received an envie looking like this either.

Office Depot: a Case of 10 Reams of Paper for $9.99+tax! Pin It

If you go through a lot of paper in your home, office, and/or homeschool, or if your church has a printing ministry as ours does, this deal may just interest you!

    • Office Depot Multipurpose Paper 10 ream case $41.99
    • -$22 instant savings at Register
    • -$10 off $20 Office Depot purchase (it’s the coupon on right and exp 11/20/10) <—This is a pdf coupon so save it for later use if this deal doesn’t interest you
    • = $9.99 (plus tax)

Get an additional 10% back with the Office Depot Worklife Rewards

I have a teacher's one--- you get 10% on that ... I think it accumulates though like Staples does and sends out a gift check for use in the store when a certain level is reached.

Thanks to Southern Savers for the heads up on this deal.

Walk Like an Egyptian! Pin It

Care to guess what culture we’ve been studying in history?

    100_8621
    Yep, Ancient Egypt.

We’ve been intrigued by mummies, pharaohs, queens, and pyramids lately.

I found the free printable masks online of King Tut and Queen Nefertiti which went right along with our recent Mystery of History chapters on those two people from the past.  I used free paint sticks from Lowes to make the holder for them (just taped the stick onto the back of the paper mask). I also found some great, free lapbook elements on Ancient Egypt for the children to make lapbooks about what they have learned. Scroll down on that page to get the Ancient Egypt elements. There are also others of interest there for other cultures. I definitely bookmarked that site for later use.  There are so many great freebies online for homeschooling, especially for making lapbooks… which our children love to make!

Target Freebies & Good Deals Pin It

Target isn’t a store that I shop at very often because we live so far from the nearest one.

We were near one today and I popped in to pick up a few freebies and deals.

Here’s what I got (minus 1 pack of Tic Tacs and 2 Simply Orange Lemonades from the photo as they were consumed.)

All this only cost me $9.23 of which $5.xx was tax!  Tax will eat you alive here in TN.  The cashier failed to give me bag credit for my two bags though (.05 ea – I didn’t go back in for that… wasn’t worth the trouble).

    100_8615

    I bought:

    • 34 Beneful meals $1.53 - $2 off one (1) package of Purina Beneful Incredibites brand dog food OR on one (1) package of Purina Beneful brand dog food any size, any variety from 10/10 RP -- so techincally it is good on the trays as they are a Purina Beneful product and are dog food. They say Purina Beneful on them.  This coupon will scan at $1.53 at the register – no overage but you still get the item free (well you’ll have to pay tax) – Our cats are nutty. They love to eat the wet dog food as well as the wet cat food. They’ll eat dry cat food but really love the wet version. So When I can get it free, I do as a treat for them.

Week 2 of Kroger Mega Deals – Saved $321.47! Pin It

Well this week was pretty much the same deals as last week and I used all my coupons then. However, I did want to get a few more of the DiGiornio Pizzas and a couple of other things including using the Fuze tearpad q’s I found that were b4g2f (buy 4 get 2 free).

So the children and I loaded up and headed to Kroger.   Dh surprised us by stopping in on his way home as he had to come right by there from where he was working today. Good thing he did or I wouldn’t have got all the groceries home. lol  I had to put some things in the back of his truck. Our Tahoe has a third row seat and thus it takes up a lot the cargo area. That’s the only downfall I have with it. I miss that big cargo area our old 12 passenger van had.

Anyways… so what did I get at Kroger?

    Well…

Note: mega deal item – buy 10 mix or match items get $5 off your order .. thus .50 off each mega deal item)

    • .
    • 2 Perdue Perfect Portions Chicken $7.49 - $2/1 IP = $5.49 ea
    • .
    • 1 Think Bar $1.25 - .50 ecoupon - .50/1 mfg = FREE
    • .
    • 1 Coke Zero 20oz - $1.49 – FREE ecoupon – Prize I won for playing the Kroger game (only 17 days left to play and win – you can win 2 prizes total)
    • .

    • .
    • 1 Travel Press Cup (dh wanted this one.) $10.49 on clearance.
    • .
    • 180 Fuze drinks (various ones) .99 - .50 mega deal = .49 – (30) b4g2f tearpad q that took $2.50 off  for ea q when scanned that was $75 off right there = $13.20 for all or about .07 ea    (these are normally $1.59 ea!)

    Total oop: $68.82

    Total saved $321.47

Plus I have those (3) $1 OYNO coupons I got for buying the DiGiornio Pizzas.

    100_8614

And I’m back up to 322 fuel points that expire 11/30/10.  I’ll keep building up and maybe I’ll get that desired $1 off per gallon. The most I’ve got so far has been the .60 off per gallon.

Some Kroger stores has a gas station in front or beside it that you use your card at. Others have an agreement with the Shell stations and you can scan your card or punch in your number at the pump and get the discount off your gas that you’ve earned with your Kroger Card.     Bi-Lo is doing that in certain areas now too. I hope it comes to our area soon as well as I shop a lot at Bi-Lo.

Extra Coupon Inserts – How I get extras and how I store them. Pin It

I’ve been asked if it’s possible to get extra coupon inserts and how.

Well one way is to buy a few extra papers on Sunday. Another is to ask your friends and family for theirs if they are not going to use them.  You can sometimes ask the store clerks on Monday morning if you can have the inserts as the carriers only need the first page of the papers normally to get credit back to them from the newspaper office.  Another option is to make friends with a newspaper carrier and ask if they will allow you get some extra inserts from them on Mondays.  Or dumpster dive for them in a paper recycle bin.

I dumpster dive for extra inserts when I can.  By doing so, I end up with many extra inserts that I can share with others (right Elizabeth, Ashley, Tammy?) (just to name a few of ya)  as well as use for myself.

If you want to dumpster dive for inserts, be sure that it’s not illegal to do so in your area, find a recycling place that has a paper recycle dumpster and ask permission if possible before you do, and always leave the place cleaner than you found it.  Not all areas will allow you to dumpster dive though.

So how many extra inserts am I talking about? Well this is just an example:

    100_8607

That is the Red Plum inserts from 10/10... ONLY! No other inserts are in those stacks. They are not sorted yet, etc. as I’ve been sorting, cutting, and filing the P&G’s I found.  I found about 2/3 of that amount in P&G inserts.

I wasn’t cutting and sorting the q’s from the inserts before and that meant I missed a few deals. So now I cut them, sort, and file in my “overflow boxes”…. that is what inserts I don’t share with others.  I gave a bunch of inserts out to the ladies from church that came to the coupon class I taught last month along with some extra coupons I had cut and sorted in an overflow box. They just went through the box and picked out what they wanted.

I refill my binder from these overflow boxes as well as share coupons with others from these.

    100_8610

I have one for food, one for non-food, and one for hba/otc stuff.  Although I had to locate a small box this morning to put the overflow q’s from the non-food box into … paper/plastic and pet supply coupons.  lol

Now when I know I’m going shopping, I grab my binder (that is a requirement) and the “overflow boxes” are put into the floorboard of the Tahoe.  That way if I run across a great deal and want a few more q’s… they’re just out in the truck instead of being back home.

By having extra coupons, I am able to stock up a little more for my family as well as have extra items (not only coupons) to share with family, friends, my church, and others that may be in need.  I may not be able to donate money but I can donate items (food as well as non-food) that can be very much needed as well.

    and these are our kitties…

    100_8585

That is the stray cat that found us and took us as her people and especially loves my husband which is funny as he is not a cat person.

We call her Princess Mia aka Me-Me.  Me-Me has been here for almost a year now.  She is our attack cat and guard cat now. lol She chases off dogs and other cats, kills and eats snakes (I am not kidding!), and we have even seen her eating a squirrel. lol. After seeing her eating a snake though, I personally said she could stay as long as she wants. (I hate snakes!)  She and Ida (below) were the worst of enemies as first. They are slowly getting used to each other. Me-Me is very possessive and territorial though.

This little sweetie is Princess Ida. Ida for short or I-dee as the little boys call her. She was given to us by some friends.  She LOVES her cat treats. When we still kept her in the house, she would go NUTS for some treats. I’d give her few and then she’d run through the house as fast as she could. Hubby said she was on kitty crack.. aka cat treats.

100_8601(Yes I-dee I have your cat treats stocked up too courtesy of Bi-Lo).

And if your cat needs cat treats like Ida needs her fix, Bi-Lo has Friskies Cat Treats on sale for $1.25 per bag until 11/9. Using the $1/1 Friskies cat treats coupon from the 9/12 insert, you’ll pay only .25 a bag.

Heads up on ecoupons at Kroger! Effective starting Nov. Pin It

I was told Saturday that effective November 1st that you would not be allowed to stack a mfg. coupon with the ecoupons that are loaded on your Kroger card via sites such as kroger.com, cellfire.com, pgesaver.com, and shortcuts.com.

She said that October is the last month they are allowing it. She went on to say that they are programming their systems to reject a mfg. if used in conjunction with an ecoupon and the cashiers will be required to reject the paper mfg and give it back to the customer.

So be aware of that when shopping Kroger in November and forward.

Free Tall Brewed Cup of Starbucks Coffee with any Empty Starbucks Coffee Bag Pin It

On the bags of the Starbucks Coffee is a notation that if you bring in your empty bag to a Starbucks location, you will receive a free cup of coffee.

The offer expires 30 days after the “Best Before” date (which was on the middle back seam of this bag.

    100_8566 100_8567

I bought two bags of Starbucks Coffee at Rite Aid on their 75% off the other day and used two $2 Ups and paid .74 for them total (not counting tax and of course they were mixed in with other stuff in my order).

So now for .74 --- I will have got 2 bags of Starbucks Coffee and 2 Free Tall brewed Starbucks Coffee.

Not bad. Not bad at all.
