Review: Smelly Washer

We bought a front loading washer and dryer set around February/March of 2009.   After a month of ownership, I noticed a weird smell on some of the clothes and towels that was just washed.  That smell was caused by the washer.

Front loading washers have a rubber seal that seals the door tightly when closed unlike their top loading counterparts.   When you leave the door closed, the seal can mildew and that smell can permeate the drum of the washer and thus your clothes you wash.

Leaving the door open so the washer seal and drum can air dry is a way to prevent the mildew.  However, once that smell has got into your washer, it can be hard to get it out and out of your clothes thus making for a very Stinky Washing Machine.

There is a remedy though!

Introducing Smelly Washer, the product that gets rid of that nasty, mildew smell in washers.

This is a Washing Machine Cleaner that you use just 1 capful (1 TBSP) to the wash cycle or using in a spray bottle mixed with hot water to clean the rubber seal around the door.

The bottle label touts the claims of:

    • Remove Washer Oder!
    • Removes Towel Mildew!
    • Up to 24 Treatments!
    • Easy to use!
    • All Natural!

Well I have to say, those claims are true.  Now I didn’t see the tell tale signs of mildew on the towels but you could smell it.  I have a very sensitive nose apparently. I can smell the slightest of odors.

Well, odor be gone with this product!  Plus it’s ALL NATURAL!  Yep, you read that right. All natural!   There is no dyes and for those of us with sensitive smellers… no scent to contend with!
