I have had the flu so I am behind on getting book reviews and other reviews posted. Please be patient with me as I get caught up on all those as well as get caught up on emails.

You will see many posts in one day until I get caught back up so I apologize in advance for overloading your feed reader.

Thank you for understanding.

Weekend Wonders: Yard Sales, Thrift Stores, & Used Curriculum Sale Take 2

Saturday was the Homeschool Used Curriculum Sale for the Chattanooga, TN area.  I headed out early Saturday morning so I could maybe catch a few yard sales on my way there.  I only found two!!  I couldn’t believe it!  It was around 9 am when I left the house so plenty of time for the yard salers to be up and out.  Everyone must have decided to sleep in. lol

At the first yard sale I stopped at, I found two shelves with covers that zipped and has pockets on them. One has a blue cover and the other is pink (shown below).   I also picked up a few books.  All total for $10.  I already put one shelf in our dining room/school room to hold some items.  Now were to put the other one. hmmmmm100_6923

At another yard sale, I picked up a pair of muck boots (aka rubber boots) and some books for $3.

After briefly stopping by a friend’s house to pick up oldest dd’s baby shower gift, I headed on to the curriculum fair.

At the fair, I found many books as well as some manipulatives along with a few games and other goodies.  I spent a total of $60 at the fair (counting in the admission price) but I got a ton of goodies… 4 big bags full to be exact.  I had to actually take stuff to the van and go back in.  lol    The children were super excited to see all the “new” goodies they would be using in the months to come.

After the fair, I stopped into the used book store in town and dropped off some books I had.  They give you cash or store credit for books you bring in (as well as cds, dvds, and a few other things).  I received enough in store credit to pay for the few books I found in the store that I wanted to get and walked out with a little over $8 left in store credit.

Then I headed to the thrift store just up the street where I found a box of wooden blocks, a bag of Lincoln logs, and a couple of puzzles.  I spent $7 there.

Oh and Friday, while out and about… we popped into a local thrift store and look at the goodies I found…

All for $15!!  That little plane and boat you see in the top right of the photo is made out of cedar.  So cute!
