REVIEW: Scrubbing Bubbles Action Scrubber

I used to use Scrubbing Bubbles years ago when I could buy the spray cans with coupons for next to nothing when I found a store that doubled or a good sale.

I haven't bought any Scrubbing Bubbles products in a long time... 5+ years as least that I know of... as that's when we moved from the "good sale/double coupon" area.

BzzAgent recently sent me a Scrubbing Bubbles® Action Scrubber Starter Kit. My interest in the product has been peaked again with this action scrubber.

I know how well Scrubbing Bubbles can clean your tub and shower. The fresh scent is good too. Now, I just don't prefer all those chemicals going down my drain and into our septic tank.  We switched to using baking soda and white vinegar for cleaning the bathrooms but that was helping a problem we had in one of the three bathrooms.

I have to give the  Scrubbing Bubbles® Action Scrubber a big round of applause though because this baby removed set in iron/rust stains from our old well water usage that nothing I used would bring off... Until Now!

We have three bathrooms, the hall one, another one which out of order at the moment due to a sink leak and the other is in our main bedroom.   The other  two tubs/showers are pretty much clean due to being scrubbed heavily until the stains were barely noticeable. They were not as bad in these as the one in the hallway bathroom. No matter how hard we scrubbed we just couldn't get the last remaining remnants of the iron/rust stains from the hallway bathroom's tub.

Well solution found!   Yep, you guessed it, the Scrubbing Bubbles® Action Scrubber brought out the remainder of the stains and whitened that tub in no time!  I am so tickled!   My oldest daughter used this on the tub and shower in the hall bathroom which serves as the bathroom for her and the younger children and guests.  My daughter is tickled to finally have the tub back to white too!  She said she only had to lightly scrub with the scrubber to get the stain off. Saying, "Much easier to clean with that and what we were trying to get the stains off with before (meaning before baking soda and vinegar -- we used a generic cleaner)."

Thank goodness the kit has a couple more cleaning pads in it because I want to make the other two tubs sparkle too and remove the last small remnants of the stains they have in them! This should be a snap!

The kit came with some coupons tucked inside the booklet and I've been requested to "Please buy some more of these!".

  1. Hi Laura,

I found a coupon in the Sunday paper about a month ago for a full rebate on one of these starter kits. I picked one up over the weekend.

We have a problem with hard well water. Do you think it would work to remove hard water and soap scum build up on our glass shower walls without scratching them?

    Thanks!

  2. Sheila,

The issues with the rust and stains we had in our tubs were caused by hard well water. The water was orange at times. I kid you not. Needless to say we couldn't drink it or cook with it.

I cleaned our fiberglass tub with the scrubber and it didn't scratch it. I don't have glass shower walls so I honestly can't answer that question.

But I'll say this that the scrubber is a pad with cleaning solution on it, it's not an abrasive pad that you may be thinking of... it's not like a wire sos pad.

You wet the scrubber pad and apply just a little bit of effort and soap scum comes off.
