REVIEW: The Old Schoolhouse Digital Magazine

I absolutely love The Old Schoolhouse Magazine and now it has gotten even better with its digital version now available.

With the paper issues, you are afforded the ease of taking the magazine with your in the car, to the doctor's office, etc.   If you're like me though, you have to have a notepad and pen nearby to jot down website links you want to check out.

With the digital issues, I no longer have to keep a notepad and pen nearby as I can just click on the links in the magazine and automatically be taken to that website!  I LOVE THAT!

The digital issues are set up so that you can see all the pages just as you would if you were flipping through a paper magazine but with some added benefits such as:

  • the aforementioned instant links that you can click on while reading through the issue or you can click on the Links tab to view the links within the issue
  • the option to see all the pages at once if you want to go to a particular article instead of having to flip back through the pages to find it
  • Or just use the wonderful Search feature to find what you're looking for
  • change settings on the issue to flip the pages faster, enlarge the pages or make smaller
  • There is an Archive tab that you can view previous issues in (note: the issue linked below is the first issue so no archives are available)
  • You can view the contents of the issue with one click
  • You can even download the issue and share it with friends via email or widget like the one below.

Within each issue, you will find wonderful articles on a variety of subjects including history, science, unit studies, and much more.

If you love homeschooling magazines or have always wanted to subscribe to one, I highly recommend the cream of the crop which is: The Old Schoolhouse magazine.  You have the luxury of choosing between the paper issue or the digital issue and with either one you choose (or choose both), you can't go wrong.

Don't just take my word for it though click on the link below to peek inside an issue of The Old Schoolhouse Digital Magazine and decide for yourself.
