REVIEW: Create-A-Tale

If you have ever had the pleasure of hearing preschoolers and kindergartners tell you a book they have read or had read to them, then you know how funny the children can get. You'll hear versions of the stories you never knew existed.

Well let me introduce to you a new interactive DVD called Create-A-Tale: Funny Fairy Tales for children ages 3-6 yrs old.
Create-a-Tale DVD Case

This unique DVD includes five animated tales, each with a resemblance to the kind of fairy tales we grew up with.  But unlike the tales we grew up with, these take on a whole new life of their own thanks to children deciding what happens next in the storyline.

At different points in the story, children determine which path the story will take thus creating a new story each time... much like how a child will tell you the story of a book and you get different versions.

Children are eager to learn and this DVD enables them to create a new fairy tale while learning about storytelling.

This project was created and is financed completely independently, out of a passion for children's education and the desire to foster young storytellers.

Create-A-Tale relies solely on word-of-mouth and the belief that, if there's a great product out there, it will find its way into the hearts of parents, teachers, and children.

The stories are cute and your child interacts with the DVD by listening to the story then clicking on the one of two choices when prompted.  This is the learning part of the DVD because once the child clicks on his or her choice, the DVD spells out one of the words of the choice. For example, in the The Three Big Pigs, the child chooses between a pizza house or ice cream house. If the child chooses the pizza house, the word "pizza " gets spelled out.

So not only is this DVD fun for the child to learn storytelling, but also teaches them to spell some words.

My children enjoyed the DVD and had a lot of fun with it, maybe yours will too.
