Brady's Smile, Inc. Announces Expansion of
Programs into Two Pennsylvania Hospitals
Fairfield, CT - August 26, 2008 - Brady's Smile, Inc. will soon be "doing big things for little ones in need" in Pennsylvania. Beginning in September, the Connecticut-based charitable organization is expanding their successful children's-based Intensive Care Unit ("ICU") programs into more hospitals. New partnerships have been formed between Brady's Smile and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC ("Children's"), as well as with DuBois Regional Medical Center ("DRMC"). Since founding Brady's Smile less than five months ago, their primary goal has been to help make life in the newborn and pediatric ICUs easier for children and their families. The addition of these two new partnerships will compliment their existing programs at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital and help touch the lives of more children in need.
Brady's Smile is establishing their Brady's Smile Comfort Bags, Brady Blankets and Music in the ICU ("MICU") programs in the Newborn, Pediatric and Cardiac ICUs at Children's. Children's is consistently named to several elite lists of pediatric health care facilities and has more than fifty beds combined in their ICUs.
The Newborn Intensive Care Unit ("NICU") at DRMC will benefit from the Brady's Smile Comfort Bags program. In addition, Brady's Smile is proud to announce the creation of "Meals by Matt and Annie," a new program being established at DRMC, which provides monthly home-cooked dinners to be shared by the families of newborns and children staying in the ICU. The NICU at DRMC has been an essential part of central-Pennsylvania for over thirty years and is a well-respected NICU in the state of PA.
Comfort Bags provide basic essentials to caregivers and toys to babies and children. Brady Blankets are homemade fleece blankets that will be distributed to babies and children during their time in the ICU. The MICU program will give every baby and child an opportunity to benefit from the power of music during their time in the ICUs. The generosity of loyal supporters, as well as the overwhelming success of these three programs at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital, have led to Brady's Smile expansion into these additional hospitals. Co-Founders Matt and Annie Hinton are thrilled with the progress and have also announced Brady's Smile's first fundraiser, "Color the Night," to be held this October. All proceeds raised at this event will benefit these programs at the above mentioned three hospitals.
