This is the third book in The Kane Legacy series. If you enjoy historical romances as well as western novels, then you are in for a treat.
I hate going into a series without having read previous books in the series because I always feel like I'm missing information I should know.
Sometimes though a series book comes along that I can still get into and enjoy. This is one of them.
This book is a historical romance story with the thrill of an old western. I'm not much on "love stories or romance novels" but when there's a historical romance involved from a Christian author then many times I'll read it because they leave out all the "private details", as should be. I do however enjoy a good western novel. I get that from my Dad. He was a big fan of Louis L'Amour.
Overall, this book is a great read and you may feel like you've gone back in time to the old western days during the Mexican-American War while reading through the pages. Your heart will ache for the Kane family too especially if you've ever experienced a loved one going off to war.
