Other:
- Friday - took van back to the mechanic to finish having the rear AC repaired. I took it over on Wednesday and they found the problem but had to wait for the part to come in before they could fix it.
- Saturday -
- we took off for the day to go enjoy the Tennessee Aquarium again before our annual pass expires in November (the pass was a gift from Dh's boss in Nov. '07)
- Saturday- oldest dd's boyfriend brought over 6 1.5lb packages of hamburger meat for us to use for the combined birthday party of Nathan's (turned 3 on the 19th) and Emma's (turned 6 on the 22nd)
- Sunday - friend at church gave us 3 boxes of canning jars
- Monday -
- stopped by friend's house who had a box of home-canned items for us (pickle relish and a couple other things)
- 2 quarts and 6 pints bread and butter pickles
- 3 quarts and 5 pints of pickle relish
- 2 quarts of pumpkin butter
- Attended a house-warming party for a friend at church and upon leaving she gave oldest dd and I some of the leftover food items to bring home with us (homemade bread, chicken salad, some chips, and some opened packages of crackers)
- stopped by the thrift store with the freebie boxes and found several items for the children as well as a couple of baby clothes for a friend that is expecting.
- stopped by friend's house who had a box of home-canned items for us (pickle relish and a couple other things)
- Thursday - our neighbor is going on a short trip out of state and wanted us to come get all the veggies from her fridge. She gave us:
- 1 cucumber
- 3 pears
- 2 avocados
- a bag of coleslaw mix
- a bag of fresh beans
- 4 yellow squash
- bag of spinach
- and a bag of baby carrots
- Thursday - Ran some errands into town. One stop took me to walmart to return a few things we had received as gifts that we received and just didn't care for. I used the gift card to get:
- 80 ct. diaper pack
- jumbo pack of potty pants (used $2 cpn of Huggies and made the pack cheaper than the wally brand)
- 24 ct. toilet paper
- used a coupon to get a FREE bottle of Cascade rinse aid
- another coupon to get a FREE box of Breakfast breaks
- The children were getting hungry so I bought two loaves of bread, two pack of bologna, a pack of cheese, and a pack of snack size chips, and got the sam's club flavored water to drink instead of heading to a fast food joint.
- I even put gas in the van with the g.c.
Blessings Abound!
Don't forget you still have time to submit something for the The Carnival of Home Preserving!
