Thursday Thirteen - Why I Love being a SAHM

Don't miss the Daily Edition of Contests Galore here at Laura Williams' Musings. Each day is a new edition with brand new contests from around the blogosphere and beyond.
Put me on your feed reader, blog listing, etc. and check back each day for new contests to enter.
13 Reasons Why I love being a SAHM

1. I can go to work in my pajamas if need be.

2. I don't have to commute to work... unless you count walking from the bedroom into the living room and kitchen areas first thing in the morning.

3. No bosses to contend with... oh wait.. maybe I should scratch that.. I have a hubby.

4. No need for special business attire. I can go about my duties in a jean skirt and blouse, or a jumper and blouse... casual friday happens in my house everyday

5. No forking out money for fast food for a quick breakfast or lunch... mind you I still have to buy groceries, but at least I know what I am putting into my mouth for sure... well on the home canned stuff anyways. lol

6. I can use the computer without harrassment from a boss or co-worker.

7. I can take a nap on the job... well if the little ones oblige with rest time and nap time I can anyways.

8. I can scrapbook on my "breaks" (aka naptime for the little ones - this is if I'm not napping... haven't figured how to scrap in my sleep yet)

9. I can walk outside and see the flowers, listen to the birds, hear an Air Force jet fly over so low that it rumbles the house and the children yell "INCOMING!!"

10. I get to take pictures of my children anytime ... including ones of them covered in mud (See photo here) I'd miss opportune moments like this otherwise. And at first I was mad when oldest dd said they were in the mud hole but after I saw them, I couldn't help but laugh.

11. I get to be a teacher to my children. I homeschool and wouldn't have it any other way. We've been a homeschooling family since 1999 after we pulled oldest dd out of public school.. best decision we ever made

12. I can go barefoot anytime I want to without someone making snide remarks about foot odor or stepping on my feet or toes... oh wait.. No I can't!! The children still do this. And for the record, my feet DO NOT stink. And I don't Snore either... I stayed awake last night to see if I did... hee hee old joke there but still funny!

13. and last but not least.... Dh gives me money to go shopping with.

These are some great reasons to be a SAHM. I don't have kids, but if I did I would love to stay home with them:)

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I have a stay at home husband...who would probably really identify with you. It wouldn't do for me, but it sounds like you're happy and having fun; so what could be better?

Amen, and ain't it the truth! The only thing that's different for me is #6 - using the computer without harrassment, at least during the summer. One wants to myspace, one's into making pictures, and one wants to play Amazon Trail adventure. The most frequently asked question in my house is, "Mom, can I get on the computer now?"

You sure were BUSY last night! Two posts AFTER I went to bed! LOL
I am NOT pregnant, but that would be fun news!
The big news has something to do with contests, and I'm beginning to think you are going to be one of my biggest helps in this area, really!

SAHM. That's a new one. Beats the heck out of saying the whole thing. I like it! Going to throw that one around next time someone asks what I do. Some other favorite names Ilike to call myself, domestic engineer, working mom ('cause damn straight we work more than on an other job!) Betty Crocker Enthusiast, etc...

Raising my kids was the highlight of my life. I did stay home and did homeschool for a time. Now I'm home again, writing and gardening.

Do you read Mothering magazine? I got a lot of support from it back in the day and still read it from time to time.

Lovely post and so apropos.

Ok, I have to ask the inevitable question...you have 2 more children than I have...how do you manage them all as well as everything else we have to do as SAH homeschooling moms?

Thanks for visiting my TT yesterday!

I'm just stopping in from the Blog-Abration.

I loved these reasons. :-)

I'm from Tennessee, too. (West...close to Memphis) Also planning to homeschool starting next year. I will definitely add your blog to my "favorites" and will stop back by.
